Bead Mill is a batch process equipment designed for optimum efficiency with very low energy Requirement. The dispersion time is as low as 30 min. for Titanium Dioxide to as high as 90 min. for Carbon Black, after all the Pigments has been incorporated (Loaded) in the machine and does not include charging and discharging time.

The dispersion time heavily depends on formulation and other operating parameters. In general the total batch time, including charging & discharging alongwith dispersion time will be around Two to Two & a half hours,which varies according to the operation style and functioning of the Industry.

Bead Mills are designed for dispersion processing, where solid particles (pigments, fillers) are reduced in size and finely dispersed and wetted out in a liquid phase. Small ceramic, glass or metal beads are agitated inside the mill chamber to aid particle size reduction through impact and energy input. Post dispersion the mill base is pumped to the let down tank for completion.

Bead mills are one of the most effective methods for processing particles into micron to sub-micron size range. A wide variety of designs exist to adapt to the different viscosities, material characteristics and targeted particle size dispersions. Depending on the machine design, bead mills are operated in discrete pass or continuous operation. MOC of discs can be varied depending on the requirement.
